Hello! My name is Marrianna White and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker. Since graduating from CWRU’s Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences almost 3 years ago, I have provided individual counseling, group therapy, and care management services in a plethora of different settings. I have experience working in an inpatient hospital, developing and implementing outpatient programs, as well as individual college counseling through my position within the University Health & Counselings Services at CWRU.

I am passionate about working with diverse populations and providing a safe space for ALL individuals: BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and clients of all races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and belief systems. I value providing support and empowerment to individuals who may struggle with societal pressures to neglect what makes us unique and different. I believe in taking a strengths based approach and encouraging my clients to not only embrace their full potential, but to also utilize their resiliency and determination to strive to reach their greatest goals and accomplishments. My therapeutic style is down to earth, genuine, encouraging, and empowering.

I truly believe in building a solid foundation between my clients and I. One in which I serve as the guiding force helping you to recognize and embrace your full potential. As your therapist, I am here to reinforce the balance between acceptance and change, where I can help you to accept what has brought you here today, without letting it hinder where you wish to be tomorrow. I have training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and extensive practice utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) concepts to help guide my clients in taking control of their lives, by learning to take control of their reactions and responses to their thoughts. In sessions I will also utilize mindfulness and meditation techniques. I strongly encourage the utilization of healing books, videos, and podcasts that may help you along your journey.

I specialize in working with teens, young adults, adults, and families that may be struggling with depression, suicidal ideations, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and interpersonal conflict. I also have experience with clients struggling with disordered eating behaviors and or body image concerns.

In my spare time you can find me working out, enjoying Cleveland’s food scene, or obsessing over my little red nose Pitbull, Kaia Marie. Some of my favorite hobbies are enjoying quality time with my family and friends, reading/ doing book reviews, and continuing to develop my personal meditation practice. I look forward to embarking on this journey with you soon!Â
